I wish I knew how to counter him. I can only assume adherence to the truth is important, that rebutting him is important. But they’ve primed so many of the diehard userbase to see regular moderation and verification of veracity as censorship, meanwhile his soundbites are being played nightly on the news to sink into people’s brains largely unrebutted.
I want to start an anti-Seymour league where the only purpose is to loudly and vocally dislike Seymour. MountainTui admitting that before they got into politics, they thought he seemed like a nice genuine guy made me realise how much he hides behind his mild reasonable demeanour, and there’s very little challenge to that. I don’t know if people are still being given that impression *now* when he’s inspiring protests up and down the motu but idk, I don’t think it would hurt if the average regular person got the sense that he is deeply disliked by many, many people.

Very long piece relative to one line take downs here. Kudos. There is no one coming to save society from these right wing termites. No one can save the US, NZ will possibly or probably follow the US. How can we manage the transition from democracy and human rights in the best way to preserve democratic ideals and the rights of people in the future? Sigh my brain hurts.
